  1. FUTURE MUSIC MAGAZINE CD-ROM HELP:

  3. Thank you for using the Future Music magazine CD-ROM.
  4.  
  5. For customer service or CD-ROM replacement, please go to

  9. To start the Future Music magazine CD-ROM on a PC (Windows 2000 or XP only):
  10.  
  11. 1. Put the CD-Rom in your disc drive, it should start automatically (auto-run), unless you have this feature turned off.
  12. 2. To start the CD-Rom manually, use Windows Explorer or My Computer to browse to the Future Music magazine CD-ROM.
  13. 3. Click on the "FM_Start.exe" file.
  14. 4. The interface takes between 10-20 seconds to load, depending on your computer's processor speed.
  15. 5. The interface starts with an opening video, feel free to watch it or click once to skip past it.

  17. To start the Future Music CD-ROM on a Mac (OS X only):
  18. 1. Click on the Future Music magazine icon.
  19. 2. Double click on the file "FM for OSX" to launch the interface.
  20. 3. The interface takes between 10-20 seconds to load, depending on your computer's processor speed.
  21. 4. The interface starts with an opening video, feel free to watch it or click once to skip past it.

  23. If the Future Music magazine CD-ROM won't play correctly:
  24.  
  25. 1. The Future Music magazine CD-Rom uses Quicktime to play movies and audio files, and Adobe Acrobat to open .pdf files, and the Macromedia Flash player to view some content from the CD-Rom.

  27. 2. If you don't have these programs installed on your machine already, it's free and easy to do so.
  28.  
  29. 3. Go to http://www.apple.com/quicktime/ to download the free Quicktime player.
  30.  
  31. 4. Go to http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html to download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader.

  33. 5. Got to http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash to download the free Macromedia Flash Player.

  35. 6. Restart your computer (on PC) after installing these programs, and run the interface again.

  37. 7. If you are still having problems with the CD-Rom interface, even after installing Quicktime, Acrobat and Flash Player, or if you're running an older version of Windows or Mac OS 9, you can still access all of the content from the CD-Rom without using the interface. Simply browse the folders on the disc - Software, Videos, Samples, Tutorials and Extras, and you'll find all of the same files that you would through the interface.
